Our Story

Alban Hill Nurseries has been growing for decades, with records reaching back to the mid-1990s. What began as a hardworking local plant nursery became something truly special in 2008, when it was taken on by Caroline Konig, a devoted gardener with a deep love for plants and wildlife. She saw the nursery not just as a business, but as a place where people could reconnect with nature.

She strengthened the nursery’s foundations, created a covered retail space so seasonal plants could thrive in all weathers, and in 2010 opened a welcoming coffee shop - somewhere customers could pause, chat, and enjoy the surroundings.

When Caroline sadly passed away in 2018, her legacy didn’t fade. Now under the leadership of her daughter-in-law Nina Konig, the nursery remains in the family, who continue to grow and improve it while staying true to its roots.

Today, Alban Hill Nurseries is more than a place to buy plants. It’s a destination for gardeners, families, and the local community - a place where knowledge is shared, enthusiasm is contagious, and nature is always at the heart of what we do. Our passionate team is here to inspire, to guide, and to help you feel more connected – to your garden, to your community, and to the natural world around you.
